From the Vikings to today’s globalisation – trade is inconceivable without ships and thus without ports. The staging in the coastal museum makes the development of merchant ships from the Viking boat to today’s container ships with their enormous loading capacity comprehensible. Elaborate media installations show the speed with which containers are handled in modern ports today and how the working conditions for sailors and dock workers have developed from muscular strength to PC workstations.
